Courtesy Talk

At the end of my massage the therapist almost always says to me, "take your time getting up." But they usually have another client booked right after me. So I wonder if they should be saying something like, "Take your time getting up, as long as the time it takes you to get up and get dressed does not exceed 3 or 4 minutes."

Moms

As she was about to leave the wedding last night Debbie approached our table.

Debbie: Have you guys seen my purse?

(Brief pause. I checked under the table.)

Debbie: It’s beige.

Adonna: Is this it in your hand?

Debbie: Yep. And I’m the one driving.

But the Colors

Heather stopped by this morning to pick up her wallet. We just had this conversation:

H: Nice pajama pants.

M: Thank you. I just got them.

H: Good, manly colors.

M: Uh... They're Mickey Mouse.

Encouragement

My students finished the math section of the CST yesterday. One of the kids said to me, "I aced that math test, Mr. Burrill. When the questions got hard I did what you said and imagined you yelling me, and then I was able to figure it out."

Made me proud.
