I remember one late night during the last years of his life I was sitting at the kitchen table with Grandpa just before he headed up to bed. He was eating a bowl of ice cream as he usually did. I glanced at the bowl and he responded:
They say I shouldn't be eating this all the time. I say, "What's it gonna do, kill me?"
My grandfather lived to the age of 92. His marriage lasted for an amazing 68 years.
